Radio presenter dies while trying to save partner from stabbing attack by ex

According to the Military Police, the crime took place in the house where the couple lived, in the rural area of the municipality. The man allegedly invaded the property, attacked his ex-wife with a knife and then injured the radio host, who tried to defend her.

Rescue teams were called, but Célio did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was rescued and taken to the city hospital. Until the information was released, there was no update on her health status.

According to the PM, after leaving the residence, the suspect contacted his son by phone, confessed to the crime and stated that he intended to take his own life. Despite the statement, he had not been located to date.

In addition to the investigation into the death of the radio presenter, the man could be charged with attempted feminicide against his ex-partner, as reported by the Military Police.

The death of Célio Pereira da Silva generated expressions of grief on social media. Pontalina City Council lamented the loss and offered solidarity to family and friends. In a statement, Pontalina City Hall also expressed condolences and wished the family strength and comfort in the face of the speaker's death.
