Parreira has been hospitalized since June 16th. The coach is 83 years old. During this period, he underwent some procedures. At the end of last month, he underwent surgery on his upper airway and, on the 7th, he underwent a tracheostomy.
The most recent medical bulletin, released on the 13th, indicated that Parreira "remains on dialysis and his health condition, although serious, is stabilized." According to the note, there was no forecast for discharge from the ICU.
The four-time world champion coach with the national team recently underwent treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It is a rare type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, but there is a cure. The diagnosis came to light in January 2024, in a statement from the CBF.
Carlos Alberto Parreira was in seven World Cups. For the Brazilian national team, he participated in three editions - as coach in the 1994 and 2006 campaigns and as technical coordinator in 2014.
