According to local newspaper WOWK 13, which had access to records of the case, the girls were born and died on November 20, 2022.
Siders, now 33 years old, was 24 weeks pregnant. The babies were thoracopagal Siamese, a condition in which there is union in the chest and/or abdomen region.
The case drew attention again after the woman's 16 children, aged between 1 and 18, were found confined in a house, surrounded by human waste.
According to authorities, some of the children were unable to speak. An 18-year-old girl, who has an intellectual disability, didn't even know how to spell her own name.
“A completely disgusting scene,” Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain said.
The children's parents and grandparents were arrested by US authorities and charged with 16 felonies for endangering minors.
The children were found by chance while executing a search warrant in an unrelated investigation, according to Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson.
Sheriff Ryan Cain said the 16 boys and girls were confined to a room approximately 12 feet by 12 feet.
The children were not enrolled in any school. According to authorities, the family moved several times over the past two decades and there were no medical or government records of the victims.
Neighbors also said they were shocked by the situation and classified the case as “very sad”.
Last Wednesday, the four suspects were heard in court and pleaded not guilty.
