The cause of death was not reported. The family is now promoting an online fundraiser to raise funds to bring his body to Belo Horizonte, his hometown.
"In addition to the immeasurable pain of loss, we face a challenge that is beyond our financial means: bringing his body back to Brazil so that we can say goodbye with dignity and allow him to rest next to those who always loved him", says an excerpt from the donation opened by his sister, Ana Luiza Guieiro.
"Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us closer to that ultimate gesture of love. If you can't help financially, sharing this campaign will also make a huge difference."
London Police are not releasing names, but say the body of a man with similar characteristics was found on the same day and that "the death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious."
