Memphis is expected at Corinthians on Tuesday to complete renewal

The player will arrive in Brazil on a private flight that will leave Europe between late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, Brasília time, to perform at CT Joaquim Grava.

The club intends to subject the Dutchman to medical examinations before signing the new contract. Memphis is keen to sign the extension of the contract in person, which will be valid until the middle of 2028.

The parties already have an agreement in place and have signed some drafts. Even so, the renewal will only be considered complete after the definitive signing of the contract.

Amid political pressure on the board, Corinthians is cautious regarding the athlete's physical condition. Therefore, he chose to make the agreement official only after the exams had been carried out.

PRESENCE AGAINST INTER

With the schedule defined for the return to Brazil, Memphis' presence in the match against Internacional, on Thursday, at 8 pm (Brasília time), for the return of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, is quite difficult. The striker's desire was to play a few minutes against Colorado to gain rhythm before the clashes against Rosario Central, in the round of 16 of the Libertadores, on the 13th and 20th of August.

Memphis intended to return to Brazil last week. However, he only confirmed the trip after receiving the version of the contract and forwarding it for analysis by his legal team, which occurred last Wednesday night.

The exchange of minutes, the first formal step of the renewal, took place on Friday. From that moment on, the player began planning his return to Brazil, where he will perform after spending holidays in Ibiza, Spain, and staying in the Netherlands for the last few days.

Negotiations advanced more significantly last weekend. The main factor for this was the athlete's acceptance of the conditions presented by Corinthians.

NEW AGREEMENT

Memphis agreed to reduce his salary to around R$2 million per month. The majority of this amount will be paid by the football budget, while approximately 25% will come from marketing actions.

The new contract also provides for Corinthians to no longer pay for some of the player's expenses. Among them are accommodation in a luxury hotel in the central region of São Paulo and costs for professionals such as security, driver and cook.

Memphis also agreed to set the amount at R$42 million, disregarding fines and interest. Corinthians will pay this amount in installments until the end of the contract. Payments will only begin in February 2027.
