WHAT HAPPENED
The driver accelerated at the entrance to the property and did not stop in front of the closed mechanical gate. The police report notes significant damage to the structure.
Officers arrested the man and took him to Stony Brook Hospital after he complained of pain. The vehicle was seized, and police registered reports of trespassing and criminal damage.
The detective responsible for the case investigates the man's motivation. "He has no criminal record and appeared confused at the scene and after the arrest," Jennifer Dunn told Page Six.
Before arriving at the mansion, the driver stopped at another house and asked for a woman who didn't live there. Police found no weapons or notes and say he made no threats or mentioned the names of Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé purchased the seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion in 2017 for $26 million. Representatives for the couple did not respond to a request for comment.
