(FOLHAPRESS) - Madonna used social media to thank her fans after "Confessions II" debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, the main album chart in the United States.

In a message published on Instagram, the singer stated that she was surprised by the reception of the album and said that the public's support was essential to make the project a reality.

"Words cannot express how grateful and surprised I am by the incredible reception 'Confessions on a Dance Floor' has received. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this and helped this dream come true, especially my fans. Your goodwill and positivity has been incredible. I'm still pinching myself. I can't believe the album is #1 worldwide," the artist wrote.

In the same publication, Madonna stated that her main objective with the new work was to provide fun for the public. "My dream was to make people dance this summer, to bring them joy. Dreams really do come true. Thank you, with love," he added.

Released in early July, "Confessions II" debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and consolidated another milestone in the Queen of Pop's career. As a result, Madonna became the first female artist to place an album at number one on the main American chart in five consecutive decades. The album also received positive reviews from critics and is among the favorites for the next awards season.

This is the singer's 15th studio album and contains 16 tracks. The project features appearances by artists such as Feid, Martin Garrix, Stromae, Sabrina Carpenter and Lola Leon, Madonna's daughter. The partnership with Sabrina, on the track "Bring Your Love", also secured space on the Billboard Hot 100.
