“I ended up not going to coach the Brazilian team, but I already had indications to pre-call Brazil for the game that would be played in March after they lost 4-1 to Argentina”, he declared.
The reference made by the technician presents a divergence in relation to the calendar for that period. The 4-1 defeat to Argentina occurred in March 2025, in the World Cup qualifiers. The next FIFA Date was played in June, when Carlo Ancelotti debuted in charge of Brazil.
Jorge Jesus also analyzed the squad prepared by Ancelotti for the World Cup. According to the Portuguese, his list would have few differences compared to the choices made by the Italian coach.
"What would I have done? Brazilian players play all over the world. In the Brazilian Championship there is a lot of quality. And if I would have called up differently than Ancelotti did? No, of course I would have done one or another player", he stated.
