Influencer Gato Preto is arrested in the interior of São Paulo

According to the Military Police, teams were called at around 5am after reports of a fight near a bar, on Avenida Itatiaia, in the Alto da Boa Vista neighborhood. During the approach, the agents discovered that one of those involved was the influencer and verified the existence of the court warrant.

Gato Preto was taken to the Judiciary Police Center (CPJ), where he remained at the disposal of the Justice Department. Still on Sunday, he underwent a custody hearing. In a note, the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP) reported that it found no irregularities in compliance with the court order and maintained the arrest.

The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that the incident was registered as the capture of a wanted person.

Defendant for accident in Faria Lima In May of this year, the São Paulo Court accepted the complaint from the Public Prosecutor's Office and made Gato Preto a defendant for two attempted murders with possible intent, when the person being investigated assumes the risk of causing death.

The case is related to an accident that occurred in August last year, on Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima, in the west zone of the capital of São Paulo. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the influencer was driving a Porsche 911 Carrera under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Investigations indicate that he ran the red light at high speed and hit a Hyundai HB20 that was crossing the intersection with the traffic light open. Images from the Smart Sampa system recorded the collision and, according to the investigation, there was no attempt to brake before the impact.

As a result of the crash, both vehicles were thrown into the median of the avenue. One of the occupants of HB20 suffered a fractured jaw.

Witnesses also reported that, after the accident, Gato Preto threatened and mocked the victims before leaving the scene. According to the investigation, a security guard who accompanied the influencer removed objects from the Porsche and helped take him and his then-girlfriend, Bia Miranda, although before the police arrived, which made it difficult to preserve the accident scene.

So far, Samuel Sant'anna's defense has not commented on the arrest.
