Crews of two helicopters that collided in Greece have been located

According to the Greek Fire Department, cited by the local newspaper Kathimerini, the two crews, made up of two members each, were found.

One of the crews suffered only minor injuries, while the other two crew members were found unconscious.

The four members were transported by ambulance to the Air Force General Hospital in Athens.

The accident occurred in the Psatha region, west of Athens, at a time when Greece is facing several forest fires fueled by strong winds.

In the middle of the tourist season and in just one week, more than 12 thousand hectares of forests and agricultural areas were devastated by flames in Greece, which has been heavily affected by the climate crisis, as well as the entire Mediterranean region.

Usually hit by fires every summer due to frequent heat waves and drought, Greece has so far escaped major fires at the start of the summer season, unlike what happened in France and Spain.

The country is now at maximum alert level.
