RIO DE JANEIRO, RJ (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - The CBF defined this Thursday (16) when it will meet with the clubs to discuss the immediate application of the new football rules in the Brasileirão.

The entity scheduled a meeting on August 10, in Rio, with the 40 clubs from Series A and B to deliberate on the topic, according to the report.

Behind the scenes, the vision is that the matter will be approved. The CBF's projection is that in the 23rd round, which will be on August 15th and 16th, the new rules will already be applied by arbitration in the two main national divisions.

This involves:- Five seconds to take a throw-in.- Five seconds to take a goal kick.- Ten seconds to leave the field during substitution.- One minute off the field after receiving medical attention.- VAR checking corners and applying the second yellow card.

Conmebol has already announced that it will implement the new rules, with the exception of the Vini Jr Law, which punishes anyone who puts their hand over their mouth to hide what they say during an argument with an opponent with a red card.

As there will be an interval between the application in the Brasileirão and the resumption of continental competitions, the CBF has already started to provide instruction to clubs that are involved in the Sudamericana playoff. And that started with Santos, early this Thursday.

In addition to the discussion on arbitration, which covers the extension of the ball's running time in the Brasileirão, the CBF has already put other monthly meetings on the agenda in 2026 to advance other topics linked to the creation of the single league.

This involves the organization of the competition (September), licensing and infrastructure (October), staging of matches (November) and governance and integrity (December).
