Ariana Grande announces career break after end of tour

A representative for the singer confirmed the decision to People magazine and stated that Ariana intends to rest after an intense sequence of presentations and professional commitments.

“Ariana will step away from public exposure after completing the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour. She is looking forward to finishing the tour on a high note, healthy and happy, and then taking a much-deserved break from work and public appearances, which have generated constant and never-ending scrutiny,” he stated.

According to the professional, the experience alongside her fans was positive for the artist.

"This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of it," he added.

The break also caused changes in the singer's next projects. Ariana will no longer be part of Stephen Sondheim's musical “Sunday in the Park with George”, which was scheduled to premiere next summer.

“She can’t wait to support the brilliant team bringing this project to life,” said a source.

In recent years, Ariana's physical appearance has become a frequent target of comments on social media. The discussion gained strength again after the release of the “Petal” music video, on July 31, in which internet users speculated about the singer’s health due to her thinness.

Ariana had already expressed herself artistically against this type of approach. In the song “Yes, And”, from the album “Eternal Sunshine”, she sings: “My face is natural, I don't need a disguise. Don't comment on my body, don't respond. Your life is yours, and mine is mine”.

A source described the new album, “Petal,” as “a rallying cry” about the singer’s love-hate relationship with the public and the negative effects of constant exposure.

The “Eternal Sunshine” tour began in June, in Oakland, California, and passed through cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York before the final leg in Europe.
