Galaxy Z Fold8: Samsung launches foldable cell phone with square screen to compete with iPhone

The family has three smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, which will be launched in Brazil on August 6th. The main novelty of the event was the Z Fold8. The device has a more square design, which resembles the shape of a passport when closed. Rumors from websites specializing in technology indicate that the square format should also be adopted by Apple in its foldable cell phone, scheduled for this year. Chinese brands, such as Huawei, already use this design alternative. When opening the Z Fold8, the 7.6-inch intermediate screen is in a 4:3 ratio, less stretched than the 8-inch Ultra version. According to Samsung, the change allows for a "more natural and immersive experience, with a focus on content". The two larger models (Fold8 and Ultra) now have a screen structure reinforced with titanium. The new material makes cell phones more resistant and durable, in addition to making the crease in the middle of the display less visible. The Z Flip8, which has a smaller internal screen, maintains the aluminum structure. Another important change is the adoption of batteries with silicon-carbon technology in the three smartphones. Until then, Samsung only used lithium ions, a material that tended to make phones thicker. The component allows you to create devices with greater load capacity, but with a thinner and lighter design. The brand's three cell phones and two new smart watches — Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 — will be launched in Brazil on August 6th. Prices in reais have not yet been released. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will be available in purple, white, black and dark green. The Z Fold8 will have lavender, white, black and pistachio green options. The Z Flip8 will come in pink, white, black and mint green versions.
