ChatGPT: see 10 information you should never share with AI

Despite their practicality, the use of artificial intelligence tools requires care. Certain data should not be entered into conversations with ChatGPT or similar platforms, such as Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude.

The main risk is the exposure of information capable of compromising privacy, financial security or access to personal and professional accounts. The recommendation is to treat this type of interaction with the same caution adopted when talking to strangers.

Health-related information, access credentials, banking details and complete documents are among the content that must be kept off these platforms.

Check out ten types of information that should not be shared with artificial intelligence tools:

1. Passwords and authentication codes

Never provide passwords for email, social networks, applications or any other service. Codes sent via SMS or authentication apps should also not be shared.

2. Bank and card details

Account numbers, branch, card, security code and payment information must remain protected.

3. Complete personal documents

Avoid sending copies or complete numbers of identification documents, such as ID, CPF, passport or Citizen Card.

4. Sensitive medical information

Diagnoses, exams, clinical histories and other health data that allow a person to be identified require special care.

5. Confidential company information

Internal data, commercial strategies, reports, projects not yet disclosed and information protected by confidentiality should not be inserted into AI tools.

6. Confidential contracts and documents

Before sending a contract or document, check whether the content includes personal data, confidential clauses or information that cannot be disclosed.

7. Data from third parties without authorization

Other people's personal information should not be shared without their consent.

8. API Keys and Access Tokens

These codes allow connection to systems, applications and digital services. If exposed, they may facilitate undue access.

9. Answers to security questions

Pets' names, hometowns, family names, and other answers used to recover accounts must be kept confidential.

10. Images with sensitive information

Photos of documents, cards, application screens, contracts or correspondence can reveal data that should not be exposed.

Before sending any content, the guideline is to review the material and remove full names, document numbers, addresses, credentials and other elements that allow identifying people or accessing accounts.
