RF seizes around 200 kg of marijuana after pursuit on Via Dutra, in Piraí. Disclosure/PRF A 24-year-old young man was arrested for transporting around 200 kg of marijuana this Monday morning (20) on Via Dutra, in Piraí (RJ). The case happened at km 230, on the road towards Rio de Janeiro, around 8am. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the agents were patrolling the stretch when they saw a car with Uberlândia (MG) license plates. The driver disobeyed the order to stop and fled. Still according to the PRF, the agents chased the car until km 223, where the suspect crashed into another car. After the collision, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was caught and arrested. In total, around 200 kg of drugs were seized. The PRF also reported that the young man told the agents that he had left Tupaciguara (MG), would deliver the material to the first city after the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and would receive R$10,000 for transportation. The suspect was taken to the Piraí police station, and will face charges of drug trafficking, disobedience and driving posing a risk of harm.
