According to the Civil Police, which is investigating the case, the suspect had been in a relationship with the victim for seven years. The case is treated as femicide. The victim, whose name was not released, was attended to by the Fire Department and taken to São Camilo Hospital, but did not survive his injuries. The Military Police were called after a complaint and found the woman lying on the floor and bleeding. The investigation will now be conducted by the Imbituba Police Department for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly (Dpcami), which works to clarify the dynamics of the crime.
