The changes, according to the city hall, aim to attract users back to public transport and improve urban mobility, especially during high season periods, when the flow of vehicles is more intense in the city. ? The route, which was 70 thousand kilometers per month, increased to 106 thousand kilometers per month, serving the central region, neighborhoods and towns in the interior of the municipality. The municipal secretary of Public Security and Traffic, Tiago Flores Procópio, explained that the changes were planned to reverse the drop in the number of users recorded after the pandemic. "We studied and focused on getting things right on two fronts. One, offering a reduced price, on a new product, with higher quality, so that the community can use it again", he states. The secretary also highlights the impact of the measures on the city's traffic. "We have great difficulty with urban mobility. So, we need every person who is viable, who can use public transport, it will reduce the impact of vehicles on the municipality", he says. Currently, around 3,300 passengers use the service every day. The city hall's objective is to reach the mark of 7,500 daily passengers. With this volume, the operation would become self-sufficient, without the need to use public resources to maintain the system. From September onwards, the population will have access to an application to track the location of vehicles live. The payment system features electronic ticketing using a transport card, which can be topped up online or via Pix. Passengers also have the option of paying the fare in cash, directly to the driver, upon boarding. The project also foresees a future expansion of routes and schedules to serve tourist regions of Gramado, such as Lago Negro and the city's entrance gates.
