Warning of rough seas and waves that can reach more than three meters is issued for Paraíba Luana Silva/g1 The Navy Hydrography Center has issued an alert for the occurrence of rough seas between this Friday (17) and Sunday (19) on the coast of Paraíba and other states in the Northeast. According to the warning, waves can reach up to 3.5 meters in open sea areas. The information was confirmed by the Paraíba Port Authority. ? Rough sea is the condition in which the sea presents higher and more agitated waves, caused mainly by the action of strong winds and weather systems. In these situations, navigation becomes more difficult and risky, especially for small vessels, such as fishing boats, speedboats and sailboats. ? The guidance is for sailors to assess the need to postpone or even suspend going to sea during the warning period. Before sailing, the recommendation is to consult weather warnings and forecast sea conditions, in addition to checking whether the vessel is in suitable navigability conditions and whether salvage equipment is available and in perfect working order. The Navy also advises that all occupants wear life jackets, when recommended, and that communication equipment is in working order. During the alert period, the recommendation is to avoid navigation in open sea areas, where waves tend to be more intense.
