Two women die after car leaves BR-316, in Maranhão Two women died in an accident on BR-316, in the rural area of ??Olho D´Água das Cunhãs, 287 km from São Luís. The victims were identified as Helena Silva Fernandes and Gercy de Senna Lécio, and lived in the municipality of Governador Nunes Freire. According to investigations, they were traveling with three other people in a passenger car headed to Teresina (PI), where they would have medical appointments. The other three victims were rescued by teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and taken in serious condition to the Dra. Laura Vasconcelos Regional Hospital, in Bacabal, where they remain hospitalized. The circumstances of the accident will be investigated by the competent authorities.
