All teenagers enrolled in courses offered in 21 socio-educational centers in the State of São Paulo were able to participate in the competition. Young people also had to research techniques and flavor combinations, in addition to learning about and being inspired by the stories of traditional pizzerias in Brazil and around the world. The decoration of the environment and the creation of the menus were also part of the evaluation. The president of the FAT Foundation stated that the competition was also a way of working towards resocialization. "Cooking skills allow teenagers to experience new forms of family and social life, through autonomy and the possibility of cooking at home, with friends and in other social environments", highlighted Cesar Silva, in a note. The moment also included the distribution of snack kits for all young people. Fundação Casa added that the recipes developed throughout the competition will be collected in a digital book, giving visibility to the work of young people and allowing creations to circulate beyond the walls of socio-educational centers. The interim president of the institution, Oswaldo Caetano Junior, highlighted that the festival used gastronomy as a learning tool, developing skills and expanding prospects for insertion into the job market. "More than a competition, this initiative reinforces the role of professional qualification as a path to new opportunities and as an instrument of social transformation, by connecting technical learning, creative expression and prospects for insertion into the job market", he concluded.
