Small plane crashes into river in AM; pilot tells police he was going to get drugs

Video shows plane being towed after falling into river in Amazonas A small plane crashed into a river near the community of Caeté, in Tonantins, in the interior of Amazonas, on Sunday night (2). The pilot was injured and told the police that he was not qualified to fly the aircraft and that he was on his way to get drugs when the accident occurred. Images recorded in the region show the aircraft being towed by a vessel after the crash. (see video above). According to the Amazonas State Department of Public Security (SSP-AM), a team from the Arpão I River Base was called to respond to the incident. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found the pilot on the banks of the river with injuries caused by the fall. The man received first aid and was taken to the municipal hospital. ? According to the report, the destination was the Jesus do Solimões community, where he would look for a load of drugs.
