The case took place on Rua Ari Caetano, in the Manguinhos neighborhood. The agents went to the address after receiving information from Hotline about armed suspects who were selling drugs at the address. According to the Military Police, during the action, two individuals were seen sitting in front of a table while selling drugs. One of them was armed. Upon realizing the presence of the agents, the suspect shot at the team, who retaliated. The second suspect managed to escape and abandoned the material during the confrontation. After the shooting stopped, agents searched the area and found the young man lying on the ground with injuries. He was rescued and taken to the Japuíba Municipal Hospital, where he received medical attention but could not resist his injuries and died in the medical unit. The Military Police also reported that a pistol, a charger, a radio transmitter, three bottles of loló, four marijuana tablets, five ammunition, seven candies, 14 strips of marijuana, 20 rocks of crack, 89 bags of marijuana, 155 rocks of crack and 237 marijuana capsules were seized. All the seized material and another suspect, aged 25, were taken to the Angra dos Reis police station. He told agents that he had gone to the address to buy drugs. The identity of those involved was not disclosed and, until the publication of this report, there was no information about the young man remaining in prison.
