Employee dies after being run over by a loader at a logging company in Taubaté

According to the company's occupational safety technician's report to the police, the accident occurred on the factory's main internal circulation route. A loader was heading towards the upper part of the establishment, on an uphill stretch, when the victim allegedly tried to hitch a ride, jumping to hold on to the upper rail of the machine. According to the statement, he lost the support of his hands and feet, fell and ended up being run over by the equipment, which passed over his abdomen and legs, causing serious injuries. Also according to the incident report, the company reported that it does not have its own outpatient clinic nor a team of civil firefighters and that the accident site does not have security cameras. The victim had worked at the logging company for around 40 years. The Civil Police requested on-site expertise, in addition to necroscopic and toxicological examinations at the Legal Medical Institute (IML). The case was forwarded to the police district responsible for the area, which will investigate the circumstances of the accident and possible responsibilities.
