Prolagos modernized structure to ensure greater environmental protection in Arraial do Cabo Prolagos The Prolagos concessionaire completed the modernization of the Monte Alto Sewage Treatment Station, in Arraial do Cabo. The work turns the unit into a tertiary level station, ensuring that the treated effluent returned to the environment complies with the most rigorous quality standards. The beginning of the new phase of the operation was marked by an inauguration ceremony in partnership with the city hall, this Wednesday (29/07), with the presence of municipal authorities and the concessionaire's technical staff. Prolagos and the city hall of Arraial do Cabo inaugurate the modernization of the Monte Alto Prolagos ETE "Treating sewage at a tertiary level means promoting greater health, quality of life and development for the region. And our work does not stop here. We continue to work together with the city hall to advance the sanitation works and increasingly improve the service provided.", highlighted the President Director of Prolagos, Sinval Andrade, Aline Póvoas, Executive Director of the concessionaire, tells how the project went strategically designed for the territory, taking advantage of existing structures to accelerate the delivery of environmental benefits to the population: "Our focus was to quickly transform infrastructure into environmental gains, implementing a modular solution capable of delivering high operational efficiency with low area occupation. The technical capacity of our team allowed the completion of this work in record time, using MBBR technology, which works with three biological reactors at the heart of the treatment process, a modern and robust technology that allows a larger volume of sewage to be treated in a reduced space", explains Aline. In a didactic way, the system works like an accelerated ecosystem, where microorganisms decompose the organic load much faster than with conventional methods. Prolagos Engineering Manager, Iran Junior, details: "Inside these reactors there is equipment that serves as a 'home' for the bacteria that will clean the water. To give you an idea, these pieces create an area of ??91 thousand square meters for biological growth. It is as if we had almost 13 football fields of treatment area concentrated in a compacted space, with high-power blowers guaranteeing the oxygen necessary for the process", explains Iran. The inauguration marks another step forward in the investments made by Prolagos in the Lagos Region. The company is executing a R$450 million package in the five municipalities in its concession area. City Hall delivers work license for construction of new treatment unit ETE Monte Alto will function as a temporary solution, guaranteeing the provision of the service until the definitive unit is ready to operate. The new treatment plant will implement the Dutch Nereda® technology, a pioneer in the region with a revolutionary system that offers optimization of the implantation area and greater operational stability, with high organic load removal, without generating noise and odors. During the event, the mayor of Arraial do Cabo, Marcelo Magno, handed over the construction license to the board of Prolagos, which will be built in the vicinity of RJ-102, close to the portico region, at the entrance to the city. "Arraial do Cabo has grown and so has our responsibility to the city. Investing in sewage is investing in the preservation of our beaches, our lagoon, marine life and the quality of our waters. This means protecting the environment and strengthening tourism, which is one of the city's main sources of development and job creation.
