Big victory for Education in Atibaia: the municipality achieved a score of 7.4 in the IDEB 2025, taking first place among cities in São Paulo with a population between 100 thousand and 200 thousand inhabitants. The result also represents the best score in the Bragantina region and guaranteed second place in the State among municipalities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants. On the national scene, Atibaia stands out as it ranks sixth among Brazilian cities of the same size. The result still surpasses the previous index, which was 7.3. Atibaia City Hall Disclosure The achievement reflects continuous work carried out throughout 2025 to strengthen the learning of students in the municipal network. According to the Department of Education, the progress is the result of a set of actions and strategies adopted throughout the year. These include classes on Saturdays, tutoring and the use of pedagogical technologies, through the Supera IDEB Atibaia 2025 program. Also noteworthy is the Super Escola program, which promotes the modernization of school infrastructure, with a focus on sustainability and air conditioning of units. As part of efficiency measures in public management and pedagogical improvement, the municipality promoted a reformulation in the use of technology in the education network. With the cancellation of a contract worth R$18 million per year for the use of tablets, management guaranteed the return of high-quality printed textbooks, prioritizing students' direct contact with the physical material. Technological innovation continues, but in a structured and supervised way, through the implementation of the Google for Education platform, inclusion of Chromebooks and installation of digital whiteboards in classrooms. Thinking about the future and the constant improvement in the quality of education, the Secretariat highlights that expansions of units for full-time education are planned, in addition to the construction of new early childhood education units. The objective is to eliminate the waiting list for places in daycare centers and guarantee a quality standard for all students in the municipal network. Supera IDEB The result of 7.4 on the IDEB was driven by the implementation of the municipal program Supera IDEB. Among the main pedagogical strategies are: specific structured material for 5th year students; tutoring with the class teacher himself; classes on Saturdays; formation of collaborative groups of teachers to exchange experiences; continuous monitoring by the Department of Education; use of technology in everyday school life; and frequent simulations, preparing students for the assessment format. In addition to actions aimed directly at evaluation, the results also reflect consistent work since early childhood education. The municipal network has been consolidating itself as a reference in providing care to children since their early years. Super Escola In parallel with the pedagogical advances, the City Hall invests in the network's infrastructure through the Super Escola program. In this first phase, more than R$25 million is allocated to transforming four school units into more modern and qualified environments. The concept includes sustainable schools, equipped with a photovoltaic energy system, air-conditioned rooms and improved finishes, contributing to better teaching and learning conditions. Currently, work is progressing at the Nelson Pedroso schools — which will receive nine new rooms and a modern court to expand the provision of full-time education from the 1st to the 5th year in the Portão region — and Maria Cecília, where the construction of a new building and a covered court will allow the expansion of full-time care for children aged 4 to 10. The forecast is that these two units will be completed by the middle of next year, making it possible to begin interventions at the Silveira Bueno and Licínio Carpinelli schools. The restructuring also prioritizes early childhood, with a focus on expanding places in daycare centers for children up to 3 years old. Since 2025, four new units have already been delivered, and two more are planned for next year. Expansion and improvement works are also underway in units such as the São Felipe and Nova Geração daycare centers, strengthening the service structure and consolidating education in Atibaia from the ground up.
