Autonomous robot is integrated into the CSI Photo: PMSJC An autonomous quadruped robot, known as a "robot dog", began to be tested by the City of São José dos Campos to perform security, inspection and Civil Defense actions. The equipment was presented this Monday (27), during celebrations for the city's 259th anniversary. The robot was displayed to the public at Parque da Cidade, during Revelando SP, and will undergo a series of tests to evaluate how the technology can reinforce the work of municipal teams. Equipped with high-definition cameras and thermal sensors, the equipment transmits images in real time to the Security and Intelligence Center (CSI), allowing remote monitoring of strategic areas. ? Throughout this week, the equipment will participate in tests coordinated by the City Hall. The activities involve the Municipal Civil Guard, Posture Inspection and Civil Defense. Among the planned applications are security patrols, support at major events, inspections with image recording and monitoring of difficult-to-access locations, such as slopes, flooded areas and closed structures. The municipal administration will also evaluate criteria such as equipment autonomy, quality of image transmission, coverage of monitored areas, response time and ease of operation by the teams. At the end of the experimental phase, a technical report will be prepared to analyze the results and feasibility of using the technology in security, inspection and population protection actions.
