A witness told the police that he was unable to prevent the escape, but saw the attacker discard the knife in an area of vegetation and lock himself in a house on Rua Deputado Emílio Justo. The victim was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Bertioga Hospital. According to police records, the man underwent emergency surgery due to a perforation in his intestine and should remain hospitalized for at least a week. Arrest The Military Police (PM) were called by the witness, who indicated the place where the attacker was hiding. The agents went to the address and called for Ivonaldo. The bricklayer left the residence and denied the crime. He claimed he went to the accommodation just to get a backpack and left without stabbing anyone. Ivonaldo also stated that he had not been expelled, but that he decided to move because he could not stand the confusion from his co-workers. Despite the refusal, he was sent for a forensic examination and taken to the police station. The delegate determined the arrest in the act for attempted qualified murder.
