The expansion of the Bilhete Único Intermunicipal program reaches Petrópolis, Cachoeiras de Macacu and Rio Bonito Reproduction/ TV Globo Residents of Petrópolis and Cachoeiras de Macacu, in the Serrana Region of Rio, and Rio Bonito, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, will, starting this week, have the Bilhete Único Intermunicipal (BUI) card. The benefit will allow up to two daily integrations between means of transport with a maximum fare set at R$9.40. Initially, the text was vetoed by the Executive Branch, but state deputies overturned the veto in plenary. How the benefit works: The Intermunicipal Single Ticket guarantees transfer between modes at a reduced cost. Check out the main rules: Maximum fee: R$9.40 per integration. Time interval: Up to 3 hours to make the connection. Transport rule: It is mandatory that at least one of the means of transport used is intercity. Daily limit: Right to up to two integrations per day. In addition to the three new cities, BUI already serves the capital and several municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Rio. The card is accepted on municipal and intercity buses, trains, subways, ferries, BRT, VLT and duly legalized intercity vans.
