PT launches Randolfe Rodrigues as a candidate for the Senate for Amapá. Albenir Sousa/Rede Amazônica The Federations Brasil da Esperança (PT, PV and PCdoB) and PSOL/REDE, together with the PDT, confirmed this Thursday (23) the candidacies of Randolfe Rodrigues (PT) for the Senate and Teles Júnior (PDT) for vice-governor. The decision was taken during a convention held at the Urban Workers Union, in the Trem neighborhood, in Macapá. Randolfe Rodrigues is a professor, law graduate, historian and current senator for Amapá. He will run for re-election to the Federal Senate, forming part of the government's base, also acting in the leadership of the government in the National Congress and in articulating the regional campaign in the state. ? Other candidacies approved at the convention: Teles Júnior (PDT) for vice-governor on the ticket of Clécio Luís (União Brasil). "Another mandate is to advance even further in these works, together with President Lula's government (...) and with what will make possible, above all, the part of the oil economy. The Amapá that will come will be the Amapá of the oil economy. He has a degree in History and Law. He began his career in the student movement and worked as a teacher in the state's public education system before entering the race for elected positions. In 1998, he contested his first election and was elected state deputy for Amapá, being re-elected to the position in 2002. In 2010, he was elected senator of the Republic for the first time. He won a new term in the Federal Senate in the 2018 elections, taking on a prominent role in leading committees and parliamentary blocs. During the administration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, he began to exercise the role of Government leader in the National Congress, coordinating the political articulation of projects in the Legislative Branch.
