PSTU launches Rejane de Oliveira as a candidate for the government of RS Raí Quadros, RBS TV The PSTU confirmed Rejane de Oliveira's candidacy for the government of Rio Grande do Sul. The decision was taken during a convention held this Saturday (1st), at the Barros Cassal Events Center, in Porto Alegre. Rejane is a retired teacher from the state education network and was president of the Center for Teachers of the State of RS (Cpers-Sindicato) for two terms. She is competing at Palácio Piratini for the second time. ? Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp Other candidates approved at the convention: Adão Lima (PSTU) for vice-governor; Maidana da Silva (PSTU) and Regis Ethur (PSTU) for the Senate. "We understand that it is necessary for a government to try to break the wheels of capitalism, to expropriate the big companies that took money from the people through tax exemptions, through evasion. This money could be used to build schools, hospitals and companies that don't need the money are benefiting. We have to reverse this", stated Rejane. The PSTU will contest the elections in Rio Grande do Sul with a pure ticket. In other words, it will not form coalitions with other parties.

Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy. Rejane de Oliveira's career Rejane de Oliveira (Porto Alegre, 1961) is a retired teacher from the state education network of Rio Grande do Sul. She was a leader of Sinpro (Private Education Teachers' Union) and president of the RS State Teachers' Center (Cpers-Sindicato) for two terms. At the head of CPERS, she led strikes in defense of the national minimum wage and for the rights of education workers, against the governments of Yeda Crusius (PSDB, 2007-2010) and Tarso Genro (PT, 2011-2014), the party to which she was a member at the time. She was honored with the Grió trophy, from the black movement. He is currently a member of the state and national executives of the Central Sindical e Popular (CSP Conlutas).
