PSD launches Dr. Furlan as candidate for the government of Amapá

Other candidacies approved at the convention: Luciana Gurgel (PL) for vice-governor; Lucas Barreto (PSD) and Rayssa Furlan (Podemos) for the Senate. He began his political career in 2010, when he ran for a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Amapá (Alap) for the first time. He was elected state deputy in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. In 2020, he ran for Mayor of Macapá and was elected in the second round. Four years later, in 2024, he won re-election to the municipal Executive. He resigned from his mandate as mayor in 2026 within the period stipulated by electoral legislation to be able to run for State Government. Dr. Furlan is being investigated on suspicion of embezzlement of health funds and alleged financing of a "digital militia" suspected of attacking political opponents on social media.
