The case happened last weekend, in the Belo Horizonte neighborhood, and began to be investigated after videos of the incident circulated on social media. The circumstances that led to the attack are still being investigated. According to the general commander of the Military Police, Colonel Alarico Azevedo, the four police officers were removed from operational activities on Monday (20), following the repercussions of the case. While the investigation continues, the military will remain in administrative roles. The corporation also informed that it initiated an administrative procedure to investigate the conduct of the police officers and determine the circumstances of the approach. In a statement, the Military Police stated that it does not condone conduct that is incompatible with the institution's principles and highlighted that any excesses will be investigated in accordance with current legislation.
