He was arrested for possession of files related to child sexual exploitation. In the action, three search and seizure warrants and a preventive arrest warrant were also executed. "Different investigations, but all dealing with cases of child sexual abuse. In all three cases, it was found that individuals were sharing abuse materials on the internet, each in a different context", explains Flávio Augusto Palma Setti, Federal Police delegate. According to the delegate, the other prisoner had already been arrested at the end of 2025 for sharing sexual abuse materials on the internet. After the first arrest, investigations advanced and the corporation found videos of the man abusing children between 7 and 9 years old. "As soon as the Federal Police began analyzing the materials seized from this subject, a series of abuse files produced by him were identified. Many videos of him sexually abusing several different victims. These abuses had been happening for many years, since 2011, 2012, until much more recent periods", he details. A third suspect, the target of the search and seizure warrants, was not arrested, but is being investigated. According to the PF, the action seized several equipment used by those investigated. They will be subjected to forensic examination, with the aim of identifying any other crimes committed, as well as identifying sexual abusers and rescuing child victims of abuse. Setti explains that, in one of the cases, the suspect sought to get closer to children through online games, behavior that has grown exponentially in cases investigated by the Federal Police, according to the delegate. "In many of these cases, we see that abusers approach victims through social networks, through games that enable this interaction between children and other people. The abusers, knowing this, knowing that the children are there most of the time unassisted, make this contact, gain trust and, through this trust, begin to carry out various acts of abuse", he details. Cecília Landarin, project analyst at the Marist Center for the Defense of Children, points out that the case is an example of how combating sexual violence against children and adolescents depends on a wide network of care and protection. "The digital environment does not cause sexual violence. But it can be used by these attackers. Sexual violence also happens in this environment and it needs to be faced with prevention, with dialogue, with education, with responsibility on the part of platforms, families and society", highlights Landarin. For the specialist, the relationship between parents and children is fundamental to identifying signs of abuse. She highlights that parents need to be aware of changes in behavior. "We avoid working with a 'checklist' of signs, because each child will manifest this in a different way. [...] Sudden changes in behavior need to be observed. When a child starts hiding their cell phone, we have a responsibility as families. We avoid blaming families, but we have a responsibility, as family members, to monitor what children do in the online environment, just as we have this responsibility in life", says Cecília. Faced with the challenge of dealing with contacts made by children and adolescents on the internet, the frequency and way in which parents and children talk make a big difference. "This is possible prevention, so that we can build a safe space for these children to feel free to express what they are experiencing on their cell phones. or outside of it.
