According to data released by the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) this Monday (20), the state is the 7th largest electoral college in Brazil and the 2nd in the Northeast, behind only Bahia (see table below). Across the country, the number of registered voters exceeded 158.6 million. According to the survey, the Pernambuco electorate grew 1.02% compared to the 2024 elections, when there were 7,152,871 voters. In relation to 2022, growth was 3%. The male audience is made up of 3,349,351 people, which corresponds to 46.35% of voters. According to court data, the age group with the largest number of voters is those aged 40 to 44, with 726,026 (10.05%). Among young people, the state has 96,037 voters aged 16 and 17, whose vote is optional. The number represents a share of just 1.33%. The agency also released statistics on the level of education. The majority have completed secondary education, with 1,978,608 voters, which is equivalent to 27.38%. Furthermore, 432,693 declared themselves illiterate, corresponding to 5.99% of the electorate. At the other end, 603,235 have completed higher education, which represents 8.35%.

As a result, the percentage of this public has dropped from 89% to 79% since 2024.
