Baby was taken to the hospital by an acquaintance of the mother Hospital César Leite, in Manhuaçu João Vitor Nunes/Inter TV dos Vales The baby was taken to Hospital Padre Júlio Maria by an acquaintance of the mother, and not by the parents themselves. The information was verified by g1. According to the investigation, the woman worked in a store in Manhumirim and had recently met the baby's mother. On one of the occasions when she passed by the establishment with her newborn, she was advised to wrap the child better because of the cold. After that, the mother started looking for her frequently to show her the baby. Until then, the woman had never noticed signs of violence or any situation that would raise suspicions of mistreatment. On Wednesday morning (8), the mother arrived at the establishment in a state of despair, saying that the baby had not cried or responded to stimuli for about a day. The acquaintance put mother and son in the car and took them to the hospital. At the hospital, it was the woman herself who admitted the child. The newborn arrived in serious condition, with low oxygen saturation and weighing just 2.3 kilos. After receiving care and oxygen supplementation, he reacted again and cried. During the medical evaluation, several injuries were found, including a bite mark on one of the feet, injuries to the hands, scratches on the back and an injury to the ear with characteristics similar to those of a burn. The imaging tests also showed fractures in the right femur and left humerus, which led the medical team to immediately call the Military Police and the Guardianship Council. The parents were arrested while still in the hospital. They deny the attacks. Guardianship Council located family member Also according to g1's findings, the Guardianship Council located a maternal aunt, resident of Alto Jequitibá, who provisionally assumed the legal representation of the newborn to authorize the transfer and necessary medical procedures. The baby was sent to the Neonatal ICU at César Leite Hospital, in Manhuaçu, where he remains hospitalized. His health status was not disclosed. Family was monitored by CRAS in Manhuaçu The report also found that the family was already accompanied by the social assistance network when they lived in Manhuaçu. To g1, the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) confirmed that it carried out home visits and tried to build a monitoring plan for the family. According to the agency, the mother was advised to enroll her eldest daughter in a daycare center, a recommendation that was followed. However, according to CRAS, the woman stopped attending appointments and interrupted the follow-up offered by the service. The daycare coordinator confirmed to g1 that the girl, then 3 years old, attended the unit. During this period, the child appeared with a bruise and a mark compatible with a cigarette burn. According to the daycare management, the mother initially attributed the injuries to the institution itself. He later changed his version and stated that the girl's father had "accidentally" touched his daughter with a cigarette. Given the situation, the management informed that it would contact the Guardianship Council to monitor the case. After the conversation, the girl never returned to the daycare. According to the coordination, the mother later sent a message stating that she had moved to Manhumirim and asked for her daughter's registration to be canceled.
