According to Danillo Lelis, operations manager at Energisa, playing with kites can cause short circuits that can affect entire neighborhoods. “In these 54 cases that we already had in the first half of the year, more than 30 thousand people were affected and were left without power for some time precisely because of the kites”, he said. Safety recommendations After the accident, Energisa recommends that direct contact or proximity to the toy and energized material be avoided. "The tip is that the person does not try to remove it. Because from the moment the kite comes into contact with the electrical network, it may be energized. In addition to the touch, it may have induction. So the air may not be enough to isolate that electricity and you end up suffering a shock there due to proximity and not due to contact", he reinforced.
