MP and Military Police of Paraíba sign agreement to reduce recurrence of cases of violence against women Public Ministry of Paraíba The Public Ministry of Paraíba (MPPB) and the state's Military Police signed a Technical Adhesion and Cooperation Agreement (TACT) with the aim of reducing the recurrence of cases of violence against women. The project foresees the implementation of the program "Returning to Reflecting: Socio-educational Groups for Perpetrators of Violence", released this Monday (13). ? Click here to follow the g1 PB channel on WhatsApp According to the MP, the agreement provides for the implementation and execution of reflective and socio-educational groups for perpetrators of domestic and family violence against women, with the aim of reducing rates of criminal recidivism. The document was signed by the Attorney General of Justice, Leonardo Quintans Coutinho, and the General Commander of the PM, Colonel José Ronildo Souza da Silva, in a ceremony held in the MP auditorium, in João Pessoa. "We are also going to take the reflective groups to the PM's environment, which, much more than a practical result, gives a huge symbolic gesture. The Military Police shows sensitivity, shows that it also embraces this cause and that it also wants to do a job like us. We have a duty to carry out the repression, but we also need to act on other fronts", said the MP's attorney general, Leonardo Quintans. With the agreement, it will be the MP's responsibility to provide the methodology used in the project, providing the script for the thematic meetings, offering training and technical support to facilitators and monitoring participants, in conjunction with the PM's General Command and the Military Internal Affairs. On the part of the Military Police, professionals from the areas of psychology and social work will be provided to technically lead the groups, in addition to offering physical space reserved for holding the eight meetings scheduled in each cycle, lasting approximately two months. The corporation must also guarantee the MP access to administrative procedures related to cases of violence against women that are being processed by the Military Internal Affairs, strengthening the monitoring of the actions developed.
