In another action, a montage is presented that associates the image of the mayor, a black woman, with a monkey. Understand the difference between racism and racial insult In all cases, the defense requests payment of compensation for moral damages of up to R$20,000 for each defendant. Injunctions granted In two cases, the Court has already granted injunctions to remove the publications from the air and determined the identification of those responsible. In other actions, which have not yet been assessed, the defense asks Facebook to provide data on the authors of the content so that they can be held accountable for the crimes. Removal of publications This is not the first time that the mayor has taken action to remove content. In 2023, the Court ordered Facebook to remove publications from five people who associated the mayor with the coup acts on January 8 of that year, which took place in Brasília (DF). On that occasion, judge José Claudio Domingues Moreira, from the 1st Court of the Special Civil Court of the Bauru Court, imposed a fine on the company and users for not removing the publications.
