Plenary of the Federal Senate Ton Molina/Agência Senado Tocantins has 12 candidates for the Senate in the 2026 Elections. The names were announced during the party conventions, held until this Wednesday (5). According to the electoral calendar, parties have until August 15th to formally register their candidacies. See who the announced candidates are. Alexandre Guimarães (MDB) Apostle Flávio Braga (DC) Carlos Gaguim (UNIÃO) Coronel Nilton Santos (NEW) Eduardo Gomes (PL) Eli Borges (REPUBLICANS) Fábio Ribeiro (NETWORK) Hélio Rodrigues (DEMOCRAT) Osvany Luz (DEMOCRAT) Osvaldo Soares (PSOL) Paulo Mourão (PT) Ronaldo Dimas (PODEMOS) Vanderlei Luxemburgo (WE CAN) Voting for governor, state deputy, federal deputy, senator and president will be held on October 4th. If the dispute for government and presidency goes to the second round, voters will return to the polls on October 25th.

He is currently in his third term as federal deputy, a position he has held since 2015. Colonel Nilton Santos (New) Colonel Nilton Santos is a candidate for the Senate for Tocantins Disclosure/Party NEW Colonel Nilton Santos is 50 years old and is from Goianésia (GO). Married, father of three children and Catholic, he began his professional life as a rural worker between 1986 and 1996, he was a Health Agent for the Prevention and Combat of Dengue, until he entered the military career. Eduardo Gomes (PL) Senator Eduardo Gomes (PL-TO) is vice-president of the Senate Waldemir Barreto/Agência Senado Carlos Eduardo Torres Gomes, known as Eduardo Gomes, is from Estância (SE), is 60 years old, married and a father. He is a businessman and politician. His political career includes two terms as councilor and three as federal deputy, a position he held between 2007 and 2015. In 2019, he was elected senator for Tocantins and is vice-president of the Senate. Eli Borges (Republicans) Eli Borges is a federal deputy for Tocantins Reproduction/Chamber of Deputies Eli Borges, born in Ipameri (GO), is married and has three children. A pastor and farmer in the state, he is currently serving his first term as a federal deputy. He arrived in Tocantins in 1988 and was a councilor for three terms in Palmas. In 2002, he was elected to the position of state deputy. In the following elections, in 2006, 2010 and 2014, the politician again won the elections to take up a seat in the Legislative Assembly. In 2018, he was elected to the Federal Chamber, where he currently holds his position. Fábio Ribeiro (REDE) Fábio Ribeiro is a candidate for the senate for REDE Personal Archive/Fábio Ribeiro Fábio Paulino Ribeiro is a journalist, businessman and environmental activist. At 49 years old, he is married and father of two girls. Born in Palotina (PR), he has been in Tocantins for over 30 years. In public life, he participated in associations, administrative entities and political parties. He ran for mayor of Palmas in 2012 and also ran for governor of the state of Tocantins in 2014. Hélio Rodrigues (DEMOCRAT) Hélio Rodrigues is a candidate for Senate for the Democrat Reproduction/Democrat Hélio Rodrigues Carvalho, 56 years old, was born in Ananás (TO) and has lived in Araguaína since 1979. Divorced and father of three children, he is graduated in business administration, was a tax auditor at the Tocantins Finance Department and worked at Araguaína City Hall. With experience in construction and the real estate market, he also worked in Europe. He was a candidate for federal deputy in 2022 and is running for a seat in the Senate for Tocantins. Osvany Luz (DEMOCRAT) Osvany Luz is a candidate for the Senate for the Democrat Reproduction/Instagram Osvany Luz Osvany Luz has a bachelor's degree in administration, journalist and works as a community leader operating in Palmas, where he uses digital influence to demand improvements and publicize the population's demands. Born in Porto Nacional (TO), she is a pioneer of the capital, divorced and mother of one son. She is named as the only woman in the Senate race for Tocantins. Osvaldo Soares (PSOL) Professor Osvaldo Soares is a candidate for the Senate for the PSOL Federation - REDE Divulgação/PSOL A resident of Palmas for 32 years, Osvaldo Soares is 66 years old and has dedicated most of his life to public education. Geographer, he worked for 26 years at Palmas City Hall, where he was a teacher, school director and president of the Municipal Education Council. He has been a state school teacher since 2002. He is married and has three children. In his political career, he contested the elections for councilor in Palmas, in 2012.
