At the time, she was accompanied by another person, who witnessed the entire action. Upon arriving at the woman's room, Ramone, with a knife in his hand, allegedly attacked the victim, hitting her 19 times in various areas of her body. The attacks only stopped because of the witness's cries for help. The defendant then fled. The judge denied the defendant the right to appeal freely, as he understood that the prerequisites for preventive detention were present, to guarantee the application of criminal law. “Finally, it would be contradictory to determine the defendant’s release after being sentenced to a sentence of more than nine years in a closed regime,” said the judge. Ramone Soares Martins must initially serve his sentence in a closed regime.
