Man is arrested on suspicion of kidnapping ex-partner and planning to kill her in Greater São Luís Disclosure/Civil Police The Military Police arrested, on the morning of this Friday (17), Luciano Pinheiro Bezerra, suspected of kidnapping his ex-partner in Araçagi, in São José de Ribamar, in the Metropolitan Region of São Luís. According to the police, he carried out the kidnapping with the intention of killing the victim. ? She was then forcibly placed in a vehicle and held by the suspect for approximately 15 kilometers. A report was made to the Integrated Security Operations Center (Ciops), which began searching for the suspect. The teams used the video surveillance system to monitor the vehicle's movement. According to the police, during the analysis of the images, the participation of the app motorcyclist who had transported the victim was ruled out, allowing the investigations to be concentrated exclusively on the suspect. Suspect approached the victim near the place where she worked in Araçagi, in the Metropolitan Region of São Luís Reproduction/Military Police During the searches, the vehicle was located, and Luciano Pinheiro Bezerra was arrested before being able to commit the crime against the victim. The woman was taken to the Casa da Mulher Brasileira, where she received reception and specialized care. She already had an urgent protective measure against her ex-partner. The suspect was also taken to the police unit for legal proceedings. According to the Civil Police, he has a criminal record, including convictions for murder and robbery, as well as records related to domestic violence. The general commander of the Military Police of Maranhão, Colonel Wallace Amorim, highlighted the coordinated action of the teams from the first minutes of the incident, which prevented the crime from being committed. "The rapid mobilization of the teams, combined with Ciops' work on video surveillance, made it possible to locate the vehicle, safely rescue the victim and arrest the perpetrator before he carried out the crime. It was an action that, without a doubt, prevented yet another femicide in Maranhão", he explains.
