Man investigated for embezzlement in Pará and Maranhão is arrested in Açailândia Disclosure/Maranhão Civil Police A man investigated for embezzlement was arrested on Thursday night (30), in Açailândia, in the Tocantina Region. The preventive detention was carried out by the Civil Police of Maranhão (PC-MA), with support from the Military Police, in compliance with a warrant issued by the Criminal Court of the District of Dom Eliseu, in Pará. According to the Civil Police, the suspect is being investigated in an investigation conducted by the Civil Police of Pará for involvement in fraud crimes. Investigations indicate that the man acted recurrently by making purchases using bad checks, misleading victims to obtain an illicit financial advantage. After issuing the arrest warrant, the Civil Police of Pará requested the Civil Police of Maranhão to comply with the order. During the searches, the police located the person being investigated at an address that was not included in the available databases. Support was then requested from the Military Police to ensure compliance with the court decision.

After being arrested, the suspect was taken to the Açailândia Civil Police Central Station, where legal procedures were carried out. He was then sent to the Açailândia Prison Resocialization Unit and will remain at the disposal of the Pará State Courts.
