Investigations indicate that the suspect, son of a municipal parliamentarian, had started an argument inside the establishment by calling the victim, who was a cowboy belonging to a former mayor of the city. According to the police, after the argument, Raimundo Pereira da Silva left the scene on the back of a motorcycle. The person under investigation, however, allegedly committed offenses against the victim again, who returned to the bar to get information. Still according to the investigation, the two ran to the outside area of ??the establishment, where the suspect allegedly struck the blow that killed the victim. After the crime, still armed, he allegedly chased a witness who was on the motorcycle used to get to the scene. Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, the Civil Police requested the temporary arrest of the person being investigated on June 3, 2026. The request was authorized by the Court in a decision published on June 10. After joint work between the Civil Police of Maranhão and Minas Gerais, the suspect was located and arrested. He was taken to a prison unit, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice.
