The report ruled out drug use by Kauana on the day of her death. The information was released in a note by the law firm Jabs Paim Bandeira Advogados Associados.
Kauana's mother traveled to Dubai and recognized the body yesterday. A cremation ceremony was then held in the city, and the ashes will be brought to Brazil to be dumped in the Itajaí sea, on the north coast of Santa Catarina, according to the statement.
Investigations have not been completed. According to the office that defends the family, it is still unknown what caused the model's fall. "In respect of the investigation, this statement only presents information verified to date," added the office.
Kauana fell from the 27th floor. The context of the death has not yet been clarified and authorities in the United Arab Emirates have already carried out an examination to determine whether Kauana was the victim of an accident or a crime. The result has not yet been released.
Kauana's companion allegedly sent audio to a friend after the woman's death. "Please help me, come here. I pay for everything, please help me, my parents can't come", says Barbara while crying, according to material released by Record. In the audio, she states that she was fine with Kauana and indicates that she had committed suicide.
Itamaraty says it is following the case. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it is following the story through the Brazilian embassy in Abu Dhabi and that it remains available to family members to provide assistance. The federal agency provides assistance based on contact with the interested person or family, but does not inform whether it has been contacted.
