Maceió hosts the Brazilian Quadrilha Juninas Championship in July

Brazilian Quadrilha Juninas in Maceió Ascom/CONAQJ Maceió will host the XI Brazilian Quadrilha Juninas Championship 2026, considered the biggest of the sport in the country. The event will be held between the 23rd and 26th of July, at the José da Silva Nogueira Livestock Park, in the Prado neighborhood, with free entry. The representative from Alagoas in the competition will be known in a selection process that will be held on June 24th. Representatives from 25 Brazilian states will participate in the competition, which will bring together groups from all regions of the country competing for the title of best June square dance in Brazil. The event is organized by the National Confederation of Quadrilhas Juninas (CONAQJ). Agenda for the dispute in the capital of Alagoas Ascom/CONAQJ In addition to the competition, the championship promotes exchange between different traditions, accents, rhythms, costumes and choreographic styles, celebrating the diversity of Brazilian popular culture. Program The program starts on Thursday (23), from 6 pm, with an evening dedicated to the appreciation of popular culture. The public will be able to watch folklore performances and forró pé-de-serra shows, officially opening the event's activities. On Friday (24), also starting at 6pm, the Alagoas State Selective will take place, which will bring together the main June gangs in the state. As host of the Brazilian Championship, Alagoas will be entitled to two places in the national competition, which will be defined during the selective. The official opening of the national competition will be held on Saturday (25), at 5pm. On the first night of presentations, representatives from 13 states will take to the stage in search of the best scores from the judging panel. On Sunday (26), starting at 4pm, the final stage of the championship will be held, with the participation of the remaining 12 states. At the end of the presentations, the gang with the highest overall score will be crowned Brazilian champion of June gangs in 2026.
