The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and confirmed the death. The management of the Dr. Pio Canedo Penitentiary Complex initiated an internal procedure to administratively investigate the case. The criminal investigation will be the responsibility of the Civil Police.

Prison history According to Sejusp, Isaías Bernardo Silva Oliveira had been admitted to the Dr. Pio Canedo Penitentiary Complex on May 19, 2025. According to the secretariat, he had been in the prison system since July 2015.
