Manaus Industrial Pole Disclosure The Government of Amazonas granted new tax incentives related to the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) for companies located in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). Among the companies covered are manufacturers in the beverage, electronics, air conditioning, civil construction, packaging, lighting and plastics processing sectors. The measures were published in the Official State Gazette (DOE) last Friday (10) and provide for credits ranging from 55% to 100%, in addition to other tax benefits. The incentives were authorized through decrees signed by Governor Roberto Cidade (União Brasil) and are valid until December 31, 2032. ? What is ICMS ICMS is a state tax charged on the circulation of goods and the provision of interstate and intercity transport and communication services. It affects the majority of products sold in the country and represents one of the main sources of revenue for the states. The decrees published by the state government cover companies from different industrial segments installed in the Manaus Industrial Pole. The incentive credit percentages vary from 55% to 100%, depending on the type of product and the framework provided for in state tax incentive legislation. Check below the benefited companies, the products covered and the respective percentages granted: Companies and percentages granted Other companies also received incentives In addition to the decree that included 19 products from different companies in state tax incentives, the government also published specific decrees granting benefits to other industries installed in Amazonas. Among them is Ambev S.A., which received a 55% stimulus credit for the manufacture of guaraná-based soft drinks and other flavors. IE Legacy Partners Brasil Indústria e Comércio was awarded a 55% incentive for the production of luminaires with a solid-state light source. KTZ Modular received a 55% stimulus credit for the manufacture of containers and housing modules. KTZ Construções e Estruturas benefited from 55% credit for metallic structures and cement artifacts intended for civil construction, a percentage that can reach 75% when the products are sold directly to companies in the sector. Another highlight is Amazon Green Indústria Comércio e Embalagens de Madeira, which received 90.25% stimulus credit for the manufacture of wooden pallets. In addition, the company obtained an ICMS deferral, a mechanism that postpones the payment of tax on certain operations. The decrees also cover Mystic da Amazônia Indústria de Eletroeletrônicos, which received an incentive to manufacture induction cookers, in a modality that can achieve incentive credit of up to 100%.
