The court sentenced the former clerk to two years in prison, in the open regime, and a ten-day fine, for having taken a bail of R$1,700 while working at the Americana Police Station, in 2016. Until January of this year, Elizete was serving a sentence in the semi-open regime at the Women's Penitentiary 1 in Tremembé (SP). Previous convictions Elizete Aparecida Maisaka Motagnana was convicted of bail diversion Reproduction/TJ According to information obtained by g1, through certificates from the Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo (TJ-SP), the former civil police officer has five convictions for bail diversion and amounts seized in police actions. Check out the four previous cases below — listed in order of date of sentence in the first instance: August 13, 2019 - convicted of skipping nine bail bonds, totaling R$14,762, when she worked at the General Investigations Police Station (DIG) of Americana. After an appeal, she had her sentence reduced to two years and two months in prison, under an open regime, because she returned part of the amount. October 10, 2019 - convicted of embezzlement of 26 bail bonds and amounts seized in the 10th DP (Police District) of Penha, in São Paulo (SP). The values, combined, reached R$23,493. Sentence of three years and four months of service provision. July 28, 2021 - convicted of appropriating R$103 seized from a suspect for drug trafficking, on August 29, 2017. Elizete worked in the 10th DP of Penha. Sentence of 10 months in prison, in the open regime. December 8, 2022 - convicted of appropriating R$175.05 from a suspect, in the 10th DP of Penha, on September 29, 2017. Sentence of two years in the semi-open regime, which led to Elizete being arrested in Tremembé. Fifth conviction Americana Police Station Reproduction/EPTV Elizete's fifth and most recent conviction occurred in the 2nd Criminal Court of Americana. According to the Civil Police investigation, on January 4, 2016, a man was arrested for the crimes of embezzlement and use of a false document. Days later, the suspect was granted provisional release upon payment of bail of R$1,760. The former clerk was on the Americana Police Duty and was responsible for receiving this amount from the lawyer. Elizete was supposed to collect the money from public coffers, but, according to a complaint from the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo (MP-SP), she appropriated the amount. The case resulted in an investigation, opened in March 2024, and criminal action. In this Monday's decision, judge Eugenio Augusto Clementi Junior stated that the authorship of the crime "is undoubted" and that, although the defendant claimed that she did not collect the amount because it was not her fault, her version "remained isolated in the body of evidence". "The version presented is not credible, given that, despite the defense's statements, no material evidence was produced to prove that the defendant was not responsible for the custody and, subsequently, deposit of the amount", he considered. Elizete was sentenced to two years in open prison and a ten-day fine. The accused may appeal freely. The former civil police officer is still a defendant in another case, which investigates an alleged appropriation of R$260, an amount seized from a suspect for drug trafficking, in the 10th DP of Penha. The case was not tried. VIDEOS: everything about Campinas and the region See more news about the region on the g1 Campinas page
