Fire breaks out in public transport buses in the center of Campinas

Public transport bus breaks out in fire in the center of Campinas (SP) Campinas Municipal Development Company (Emdec) A fire broke out in a public transport bus in Campinas (SP) this Friday morning (10). The fire started when the vehicle passed through the intersection of Avenida Moraes Sales and Rua Irmã Serafina, in a vehicle on line 117 (Dic VI). According to the Campinas Municipal Development Company (Emdec), the flames were contained by the driver and the passengers were transferred to another bus on the same line. Transport inspection agents provided support until the bus was removed. The operator informed Emdec that the cause of the incident was an oil leak in the engine. In a note, Emdec reinforced that this type of occurrence is related to the average age of the current fleet and that renewal depends on the conclusion of the tender for the new public transport concession. The inspectorate also reported that it has already issued more than 200 fines to the company responsible for line 117.
