Selection criteria The classification will be made according to the descending order of the applicants' scores, by type of vacancy, preference group and type of competition. According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), the selection order will take place based on the following priority list: Candidates who have not completed higher education and have not benefited from student financing; Candidates who have not completed higher education, have benefited from student financing and have paid it off; Candidates who have already completed higher education and have not benefited from student financing; Candidates who have already completed higher education, have benefited from student financing and have paid it off. Financing rules The maximum financing term for Fies defaulting beneficiaries is up to 60 months for individuals. In the case of legal entities, the period extends to 96 months. On Monday (13), a resolution was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) that changes some grace periods for student financing. Initially, the grace period covered both the principal amount and the interest on the debt and the capitalization of this interest was prohibited. After the change, the grace period became valid only for the principal amount, and interest that is not paid during this period may be incorporated into the outstanding balance. Result of the selection process The selection result will be announced on July 30th. Candidates will be pre-selected in only one of their course options and must complete their registration directly on the Fies Seleção portal, between July 31st and August 4th. Students who are not pre-selected in the single call will be automatically added to the waiting list. The results of this second stage will be announced from August 7th to September 24th. Fies Social Discover the Fies modalities for students Fies Social is an initiative integrated into Fies that reserves 50% of the program's places for students with a family income of up to half the minimum wage and with active registration in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Candidates who meet these rules will be able to request full financing, covering up to 100% of educational costs. For these students, proof of family income from the Permanent Supervision and Monitoring Commission (CPSA) is waived. However, those approved must appear before the commission to validate the other information present in the registration. In case of discrepancy in the data presented, the CPSA may request additional documentation that proves the financial situation initially declared.
